In his Christmas homily, Pope Leo said that true peace is already present in the world but must be welcomed through care for others, especially the weak and suffering. Drawing on the Scriptures, he said Christmas shows a new beginning where God comes not with power or force, but as a fragile child who asks for welcome. He told the faithful that peace grows when people listen to the cries of children, the elderly, victims of war and refugees, including those living in ruins and temporary shelters. The Pope said Christians are called to be messengers of peace by showing tenderness, rejecting indifference and walking with the whole of humanity, reminding them that lasting peace is born not from domination, but from compassion, dialogue and shared responsibility.
