On Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 5 PM, the Mill Hill Missionaries marked a significant moment in our history with the official handover of the Mill Hill House along Ngong Road, Nairobi, to Hekima University College (Jesuits). This property, which has served as a home and mission base since its acquisition in 1983, now embarks on a new journey under the stewardship of the Jesuits.
The handover ceremony was graced by representatives from both congregations. Representing the Mill Hill Missionaries were Fr. Hillary Awiti, MHH Regional Representative, and Fr. Norbert Odunga, MHM. The Jesuits were represented by their President for Africa, along with Fr. Marcel, Principal of Hekima University College; Fr. Francis Anyanzu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration; and Fr. Emmanuel Foro, Rector of the Hekima Formation Community.
This transition marks a moment of gratitude and reflection for the Mill Hill Missionaries, as we entrust the property to a fellow missionary congregation that continues to uphold the values of education, formation, and service. The spirit of mission remains alive as Hekima University College integrates this space into its vision for academic and pastoral growth.
We extend our best wishes to the Jesuits as they carry forward their mission from this historic location, confident that the legacy of faith and formation will continue to inspire future generations. For us, our doors remain open to our membership at our rental house in Karen, Nairobi. We look forward to continuing to serve and carry out our mission mandate in the MHM East Africa Region from our rental facility.
