It’s a long standing tradition in the Dutch Region of the Mill Hill Missionaries: the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is the day earmarked for the celebration of the year’s crop of jubilarians.
This year they number seven: Ben Beemster (65), Jan Molenaar (65), Jan Klaver (60), Huub Welters (60), Piet Zonneveld (60), Philippe van den Bogaard (50), Eelke Piet Mous (50).
Another time-honoured tradition is the coincidental visit of the General Superior accompanied by a member of the General Council.
Vicar General, Gerry Hastie, joined us a few days ago, and General Superior, Michael Corcoran, arrived today, Tuesday 12th August.
Not all jubilarians will (be able to) attend next Friday’s grand occasion.
But they will have the exceptional privilege of seeing the Eucharist presided over by a fellow jubilarian. Fr. Michael Corcoran celebrates his 40th this year!
The celebratory Eucharist is scheduled to start at 11h00 CET.
