On the 5th Sunday of Lent, the Friends of Mill Hill Uganda, alongside Mill Hill Missionaries serving in Uganda, gathered to anticipate the celebration of our patron saint, Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary, at Mbikko Parish. The Mass, presided over by our Regional Superior, Rev. Fr. Hillary, was a momentous occasion marked by gratitude and fellowship.
During the Mass, Fr. Hillary took the opportunity to express appreciation for the invaluable contributions of the Friends of Mill Hill (FOMH) to our mission. He highlighted the three vital roles they play in supporting our work:
1. Bank of Prayers: The FOMH serves as a constant source of prayer support, lifting up missionaries and their endeavours in their prayers.
2. Bank of Vocations: Through their efforts, the FOMH identifies and nurtures young people with a calling to missionary work, providing a pipeline of future missionaries.
3. Bank of Support and Encouragement: The FOMH offers unwavering support and encouragement to missionaries, motivating their spirits in times of challenge and celebration.
Following the Mass, a joyous gathering ensued as we shared a meal with the FOMH, symbolizing our appreciation for their tireless dedication and commitment to the mission. It was a moment of camaraderie and fellowship, strengthening the bonds between the missionaries and our steadfast FOMH.
The celebration of Saint Joseph’s feast day served as an important reminder of the vital role played by the Friends of Mill Hill in advancing the mission of spreading God’s love and compassion to all corners of the world. Our collaboration and solidarity are cherished treasures that enrich our missionary endeavours and inspire us to continue serving with zeal and devotion.
