Celebrating the 5th Mill Hill Missionary from Homabay
Currently in Kenya we have a common phrase ‘the 5th’ as we head towards general elections that will give the Country its 5th president. The Mill Hill Missionaries had a chance to celebrate and thank God for the gift of the fifth Mill Hill Missionary from Homabay diocese, Fr. Austine Ochieng on 8th July 2022.
Fr. Austine Ochieng was ordained as the first priest from the new parish of St. Andrews Wandiji, which is only 7 years old. He has transitioned from being the last born in his family, to being the first born of Wandiji parish.
In his homily, the bishop of Homabay, His Lordship Micheal Odiwa, reminded Fr. Austine that Jesus himself sends him as he sent the 72 disciples. On his part, the East Africa Society Representative Fr. Joseph King, thanked the diocese of Homabay that had warmly welcomed the Mill Hill Missionaries and which has become generous to the Church sending out Missionaries. He added that the church of Homabay had even offered their son Fr. Philip Adede to the General Council of the Mill Hill Missionaries. We indeed wish Philip well in his new assignment.
The event was so colorful and lively. May the good Lord bless the Church of Homabay, and bless the mission of Fr. Austin Ochieng in Pakistan.
