I serve in a very remote Mission here in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At times, life seems tough, other times, I feel like the Word of God is falling on rocks (Mt 13:5). There are nights I sleep wake up as a missionary and feel: Oh boy! What am I doing in this interior leaving all my comforts behind to live in thorns? (Cf. Mt 13:7).
But often, when I look at the joy on the faces of my flock, the growth in mission and determination on the people towards spiritual growth (Mt 13:8), I feel encouraged. What are you going through at the moment? Don’t loose hope. God will never abandon us.
