Enschede, The Netherlands: An Explosion of Creativity in Times of Corona

These corona times mean that I have a lot of time for the garden and presbytery. A working group has now been formed for the garden to turn the walls of the presbytery garden into an exhibition of paintings.

There is also an Our Lady’s chapel against the large tree in the middle of the garden.

The schoolchildren from next door have been asked to do something with the vegetable garden.

And so I made a mural called Spring at the Malieveld (The Hague), a reference to the children who demonstrated there last year for a better ecological policy: a new spring, a new sound.

I was lucky that the painters who work here were willing to lend me a scaffolding, but I had to hurry! It meant working a few days from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A member of the working group is Leo Metternich, ex-MH brother, whom I met last year when his wife died.
