Fr. Andrew Mukulu MHM – Silver Jubilarian

In a heartwarming gathering filled with nostalgia and gratitude, Father Andrew Mukulu, the first Ugandan Mill Hill Missionary Priest, celebrated his remarkable journey of 25 years in the priesthood. The jubilant occasion took place at Mbikko Parish in Lugazi Diocese, Uganda, where we Mill Hill Missionaries, friends, well-wishers, and the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Africa joined hands to honor this devoted servant of God, Fr. Andrew.

Father Andrew Mukulu’s path has been one of tireless service and spiritual inspiration, as he dedicated his life to spreading the Good News of faith across various corners of Africa and beyond. His remarkable journey, filled with countless stories of selfless devotion, exemplifies his unwavering commitment to his vocation, of which we shall read more in the days to come.

The occasion held a special significance as it marked a reunion between Father Andrew and Sister Rose Naku, a reunion that brought forth memories of their shared endeavor of being among those who started the Philosophy Center Jinja (PCJ). Their reminiscences illuminated the origins of their impactful collaboration and friendship, as well as the indomitable spirit that continues to inspire those of us fortunate enough to have crossed paths with them.

Father Andrew’s Silver Jubilee was marked by a sense of unity and camaraderie, as the attendees gathered to honour his contributions. The Parish Priest, Fr. Joe King, welcomed us with a hearty supper and a beautifully crafted cake that symbolized the sweetness of Father Andrew’s journey. As the evening unfolded, it was evident that this celebration was not merely an acknowledgment of time served, but a testament to the lives transformed and hearts touched by Father Andrew’s ministry.

The event concluded on a poignant note, with Father Andrew bestowing a heartfelt blessing upon us.
