On Saturday, October 26, Friends of Mill Hill from across Uganda gathered at Mbikko Parish for a joyful celebration. It was a special day for those who, through the ministries of Mill Hill Missionaries, have been touched by their unwavering dedication and witness to the Gospel. The event’s theme, inspired by Mark 10:51, was, “Lord, Let Me See Again.” This theme echoed our collective desire to renew our vision and commitment to support Mill Hill’s mission in every way we can.
Fr. Hillary, the Regional Superior, was present at the gathering and offered heartfelt encouragement to everyone. He expressed gratitude for the steadfast prayers and financial support given by the Friends of Mill Hill. In his address, Fr. Hillary reminded everyone of the importance of being part of the mission’s journey, symbolized as a train that has now “kicked off.” He encouraged each of us to step forward, get on board, and journey together in service and solidarity.
We were blessed to have a significant number of Mill Hill Missionaries in attendance, bringing a sense of unity and strength to the gathering. Their presence was a witness to the powerful connections built over the years between the missionaries and the communities they serve.
The day began with a Holy Mass, setting the tone for the celebration. After the Mass, we entered the second part of our celebration—a feast of food, dancing, and laughter. The air was filled with a true sense of family and joy as Friends of Mill Hill reconnected, shared stories, and looked forward to the future.
We also had the chance to raise funds for the mission, a meaningful way for everyone to contribute toward sustaining Mill Hill’s work around the world. As the day concluded, Fr. Hillary offered a closing blessing, sending us forth with renewed vision and dedication.
The Friends of Mill Hill Family Day was indeed a day to remember, a reminder of the power of unity in faith and mission. As we continue this journey together, we pray, “Lord, let us see again”—that we may constantly rediscover new ways to serve, support, and strengthen the mission of Mill Hill in our communities and beyond.
