News Update: We are delighted to share the joyful news of the recent ordination to the priesthood of Bonaventure and Akong Dionysis in Bafmeng, Cameroon. The ordination was presided over by Archbishop Andrew Nkea of the Archdiocese of Bamenda. Following their ordination, Fr. Bonaventure has been appointed to serve in the Diocese of Kroonstad, South Africa while Fr. Dionysis has been appointed to the Archdiocese of Juba, South Sudan. As they begin this important ministry, let us keep them in our prayers and ask God to bless and guide them in their service to the Church.
In his homily, the Archbishop highlighted the true meaning of priesthood as a call from God and a mission of service. He reminded the congregation that the new priests were chosen from among their own people and are now being sent out to serve the wider Church. Drawing inspiration from the prophet Elijah, he encouraged them to preach the Gospel with courage, remain faithful in prayer, defend the vulnerable, and be ministers of God’s mercy and forgiveness wherever their missionary work may take them.
