General Chapter Diary – Formation

A string of formation centres ranging from basic formation to first and second cycle dot the landscape of the different countries and continents where Mill Hill Missionaries are active.

We are grateful for the steady stream of vocations originating from Africa and Asia whilst being keenly aware of the ensuing responsibility of providing suitable quality formation for mission.

A considerable number of the delegates at this current General Chapter have been or still are actively involved in formation. No wonder, therefore, that today’s discussions on Formation were both well informed and wide ranging. Areas such as expansion and the limits of means at our disposal, vocational discernment and lay involvement gave rise to a lively exchange of ideas.

Noteworthy was the emergence of a broad consensus on the ideas and proposals put forward and the wholehearted engagement of each and every delegate with the subject matter.
