Iloilo, Philippines — Isaias Estimo, MHM from the Philippines was ordained as a deacon on 27 October 2025 by Most Rev. Midyphil B. Billones, D.D., Archbishop of Jaro. Isaias completed his theological studies in Pune, India, and undertook a two-year Mission Experience Programme in Uganda. He will serve his six-month diaconate ministry in Our Lady of Salvation Parish, Lawigan, Iloilo. After his ordination to the priesthood, he is set to begin his mission appointment at Oloolaimutia Mission in Narok, Kenya. Let us keep Isaias in our prayers.
In his homily, Archbishop Midyphil reflected on the mystery of ordination, reminding the faithful that the call to serve is God’s choice — a free and undeserved gift. Drawing parallels with the Israelites, he noted that although God knows human weakness and failure, He still chooses out of love and mercy, renewing His covenant through compassion. The Archbishop told the candidates for ordination that there is no guarantee of perfect faithfulness, but God’s love remains unconditional and steadfast. He urged them to embrace humility, acknowledging that without the Lord, human strength alone will falter. True commitment, he said, begins with surrender — a humble “yes” spoken on one’s knees, stripped of pride and self-reliance, and rooted in trust in God’s enduring love.
