Bishop Paul Swarbrick and Fr. Tony, MHM National Director of Missio, along with other clergy, led a beautiful Mission Mass at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Lancaster Diocese. They continue to promote participation in the Church’s mission and extend heartfelt thanks to all mission partners.
We are reminded that we have a special role given by God to share His message of salvation with the world. Jesus told His followers to spread the Gospel to everyone (Mark 16:16). The Apostles, who were the first leaders of the Church, followed Jesus’ example and preached the word of God, creating new churches along the way. It is now our responsibility as witnesses to continue this mission, ensuring that God’s word reaches all corners of the world (2 Thess. 3:1).
Today, the world is changing rapidly, creating new challenges and opportunities to preach the Joy of the Gospel. We are the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world” (Matt. 5:13-14), and we now have an even greater responsibility to bring renewal and hope to all of creation. The goal is to unite everyone in Christ, forming one family and one people of God.
Given the challenges and opportunities we currently face, we should increase our involvement in missionary work and motivate each other to participate. By following the path of the Cross, the people of God can spread the reign of Christ and prepare for His return, ensuring His message of love and salvation reaches everywhere.
