Prayer

While we enjoy peace and tranquility, we listen in horror to reports of the merciless slaughter of people. Therefore we pray:

You who are Life and Love,
forgive this humanity
the countless violations of human dignity.
All living people are clothed
with divine dignity and loveliness,
even murderers.

Your Suffering is caused by
our keeping our hearts closed and,
out of fear and uncertainty,
refusing to let Your Love be our life.

Open our eyes so that we see
Your Love’s gaze in the eyes of every person
in a world without borders and enmity.
