Pune, India: Diaconate Ordination

On April 13, the Diaconate Ordination ceremony held in Pune, India was graced by Bishop John Rodriques, Bishop of Poona Diocese. Five candidates from different parts of the world, namely Paul Kato from Uganda, Victor Simiyu from Kenya, Cristiano Sumbat from Malaysia, Clement Mbolim from Cameroon, and Blaise Sekem from Cameroon, were ordained as Deacons.

Their journey towards this moment began from different corners of the globe, where they joined training programs at various Mill Hill formation houses. After their initial formation years and philosophical studies, they were sent to Pune Formation Centre for their theological studies and formation.

During their Diaconate ministry, they will be sent to different parishes and later apply for ordination to the Priesthood. On behalf of the General Council, Fr. Bernie Luna, MHM, Councillor for Asia, welcomed the five candidates as Perpetual members of the Society on Friday, April 12, the day before their Diaconate Ordination.

We wish the newly Ordained Deacons a fruitful ministry and assure them of our prayers.

Edson, MHM
