Kipini Sub-Parish, Witu, Kenya: Fr. Pongo Prince Camille Loola, MHM, has given us an update on the ongoing training of church leaders on Child Protection and Safeguarding. The training focuses on the protection of minors and vulnerable adults, helping leaders to understand their responsibility towards children and other members of the Christian community. As part of their capacity building, participants are being equipped with important knowledge and practical skills to safeguard minors and vulnerable persons and to promote a safe environment for all. The training also introduces leaders to the contents of the safeguarding policy so that they can better identify, prevent and respond to cases of abuse in their various areas of ministry. The programme aims to strengthen cooperation among leaders in ensuring the protection and well-being of all members of the community.
