The British Region of St Joseph’s Missionary Society is committed to the ‘One Church’ approach adopted by the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. We have a zero-tolerance attitude to abuse in all its forms and implement the Church’s mandatory policy of reporting all allegations of sexual abuse to the police.

We work closely with the Religious Life Safeguarding Service, an independent organisation that helps religious life groups with safeguarding matters.

If you have a safeguarding concern, wish to make an allegation or raise any other matter, regardless of whether it is current or from the past, you can contact the safeguarding liaison person, the RLSS, or Safespaces.

Safespaces is a free national support service which offers confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused through their contact with the Church of England, the Church in Wales or the Catholic Church in England and Wales. This service continues to be independent and provides trauma-informed information, emotional support and advocacy.
