Antique, Philippines – October 06, 2025 – On this significant day, we gathered to honour the dedicated Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers during our Teacher’s Day celebration, organized by the Schools Division of Antique under the Department of Education. It was an uplifting occasion that allowed us to recognize the hard work and commitment of these educators, who play a crucial role in shaping our community.
I had the privilege of delivering a lecture titled “Teachers’ Development and Wellbeing: Focusing on Managing Multiple Roles and Maintaining Wellness.” In this session, we delved into practical pathways to resiliency, encouraging our teachers to focus on their well-being across physical, psycho-emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions. The participation and enthusiasm from the ALS teachers were truly inspiring, as they engaged actively, sharing valuable insights and suggestions for nurturing their health.
I am grateful for the support from Department of Education officials and the efforts of the organizers who made this event possible. I am also thankful to the organizers of the workshop and lecture for inviting me to share my ways of doing mission through education and mental health promotion. Their commitment to the welfare of our teachers is commendable, and it was heartening to see the joy and gratitude expressed by the participants. Together, we are not only fostering educational excellence but also promoting mental health awareness within our community.
