It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of Nipun Kullu, a bright and promising young soul, on the 4th of July, 2023. Nipun was a beloved son, a devoted member of his community, and a passionate student with dreams of becoming a missionary priest.
Born on the 18th of May, 2001, as stated in his baptism certificate, Nipun’s life was filled with dedication and an unwavering faith in his Catholic upbringing. He hailed from the village of Karangaguri Tetartoli in Jharkhand, India, where he resided with his loving family. Nipun was the firstborn and eldest son, and he cherished the values instilled in him by his late father, who served in the army, and his retired teacher mother.
Nipun’s academic journey was marked by excellence and determination. He completed his 10th class with distinction, securing a second division from a Hindi medium school. His remarkable performance continued in his Intermediate (+2) exams, where he achieved outstanding marks. Nipun’s thirst for knowledge and personal growth led him to join the Basic Formation Programme at BYN, Karunapuram Formation Centre, in June 2022. He excelled in his studies, and due to his exceptional abilities, he was promoted to pursue a Bachelor of Philosophy at Don Bosco, Karunapuram.
Aside from his academic achievements, Nipun’s kind-hearted nature shone through in his interactions with others. He was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand and his genuine care for those in need. Nipun possessed remarkable leadership qualities and actively participated in various community activities, such as liturgical services, prayers, sports, and pastoral and social initiatives. He had a special interest in music and singing, always eager to learn and share his talents with others.
Tragically, during a visit to his sick mother in Jharkhand, Nipun’s life was cut short by the complications arising from high blood pressure. His passing occurred on the 4th of July,
2023, at 8:00 PM IST. It is an immense loss for his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His burial is at 2:00 PM tomorrow in Mission Station Karangaguri, Post- Basen, P.S. Kersai, Dist. Simdega (Jharkhand) India.
Although his life was short, Nipun’s impact and influence will forever be remembered. His unwavering faith, humility, and dedication to his community serve as an inspiration to us all. Nipun’s dream of becoming a missionary priest will remain a testament to his profound love for God and his fellow human beings.During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with Nipun’s grieving family and loved ones.
